HMS Juno was a light cruiser which in 1915 was sent to the Persian Gulf as part of a force that attempted to curtail the anti-British activities of the Tangistanis led by Rais Ali Delvari in what is now Iran. A British force landed  at Bushehr on 8th August, 1915 and on 13th August Thomas Blomefield, captain of HMS Juno, took a landing party ashore. He was seriously wounded whilst ashore and died of these wounds the following day.
